.……ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT ORDERS REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AT CAR PARKS
The Ondo State Government, led by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has ordered the removal of illegal structures at car parks in the state.
This directive was made public by The Permanent Secretary Ondo State Ministry of Transport, Sir Chief Segun Odusanya, during a meeting with Off Street Park Consultants in his office in Akure, the state capital.
According to Sir Chief Odusanya, the original purpose of the car parks has been compromised, as they have been converted into markets. He emphasized that the primary aim of building these car parks was to provide a parking space for people shopping at the market, thereby reducing traffic congestion on the roads.
Additionally, the off-street park consultants were officially informed that tricycle operators are to relocate to designated parks as follows:
- Tricyle Operators around Arakale are to move to Sammy park.
- Tricycle Operators around Isikan market are to move to Isikan park.
- Tricycle Operators along Adedeji and Provisions Store Junction are to move to Adedeji Park.
- Tricycle Operators at Nepa round about and hospital road are to move to Nepa park.
- Tricycle Operators along Olukayode, Old Garage, Post Office, Texaco area, Obanla junction and Ijomu junction are to move to Democracy Park.
The CEO/MD of Koffy Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kofoworola Akinjo, speaking on behalf of other off-street park consultants, expressed gratitude to the state government for the opportunity to oversee the parks and promised that all illegal structures will be removed soon.
