
GOV AIYEDATIWA COMMISSIONS OBAS’ COUNCIL SECRETARIAT, REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION

The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the traditional institution, describing it as a vital pillar of governance, peace, and development in the State.
The Governor stated this on Thursday, during the commissioning of the Secretariat of the Ondo State Council of Obas along Igbatoro Road, in Akure.
The Governor noted that the facility symbolizes the state government’s deep respect for royal fathers and its recognition of their critical role in ensuring societal harmony and progress.

Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade, Odundun II, the Deji of Akure Kingdom and Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, under whose leadership the edifice was completed.
He praised the traditional rulers for their wisdom and contributions to the peace and development of Ondo State.
“This Secretariat stands as a symbol of respect and recognition for the crucial role that our traditional institutions play in governance. It will undoubtedly, serve as a center for administrative excellence, a hub for consultations, and a meeting point for deliberations that will positively impact the development of Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
The Governor assured the people of Ondo State that his administration remains committed to strengthening traditional institutions and delivering the dividends of good governance.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Aladelusi, commended the governor for his unwavering support and for delivering a befitting edifice that will serve as a unifying hub for the state’s monarchs.
He noted that the secretariat would facilitate improved coordination among traditional rulers and enhance their contributions to governance and community development.
The monarch also thanked the governor for approving a 5% allocation of the monthly allowance to royal fathers, describing it as a clear demonstration of his commitment to preserving traditional values and strengthening the role of the traditional institution in governance.
In his welcome address, Engr. Olawoye Ayorinde Abiola, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, thanked the governor for his support for the completion of the project after 20 years of abandonment.
Delivering his remarks, the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, praised Governor Aiyedatiwa as a visionary leader who truly values the traditional institution. He acknowledged the governor’s deep respect for royal fathers, describing him as “our man” and a servant leader committed to the welfare of the people.

GOV AIYEDATIWA UNVEILS NEW INVESTMENT HOUSE, HANDS OVER TRUCKS TO FIRE SERVICE
As part of the commitment of his administration to economic growth and investment promotion in Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Thursday commissioned the Investment House in Akure.
The Governor, who described the event as a significant milestone in the state’s journey towards economic transformation, said it will position Ondo as a competitive destination for investors.

During the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa paid tribute to his predecessor, the late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, who first proposed the concept of the new Investment House.
He noted that Akeredolu’s vision was to establish a one-stop shop for investment activities to enhance the ease of doing business in Ondo State.
The Governor emphasized that the Investment House will serve as a hub for economic activities, fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors.
“Today, we gather to witness the realization of that vision, this Investment House will serve as a hub for economic activities and investment promotion, providing a conducive environment for both public and private sector partnerships. The strategic location of this building in the heart of Akure will facilitate unhindered access for investors, thereby opening up our State to the global investment community”, he said
Governor Aiyedatiwa also reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing all inherited projects to prevent abandonment and wastage of resources.
He described the successful completion of the Investment House as a testament to this resolve, noting that Ondo State is becoming stronger and more competitive in attracting investments.
Charging the occupants of the Investment House to ensure proper maintenance and judicious use of the facilities, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that preserving the edifice is a collective responsibility.
Speaking at the event, Engr. Olawoye Ayorinde Abiola, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, expressed gratitude to the governor for equipping the youth with the necessary tools for innovation and entrepreneurship. He noted that the governor’s vision is focused on positioning Ondo State as a thriving investment hub while enhancing human capital development and enterprise-driven initiatives.
Also speaking, Emmanuel Omomowo, the Administrative Secretary of the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to improving the business environment in the state. He described the commissioning of the Investment House as another milestone in the administration’s efforts to attract investors and ensure economic prosperity.
Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa has officially handed over newly acquired firefighting trucks to the Ondo State Fire Service in a significant step towards strengthening the state’s fire service to enhance public safety.
Speaking at the handing over event, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the acquisition of the new firefighting trucks is part of broader efforts to enhance disaster response and ensure the safety of all residents.
He noted that an efficient fire service is critical to protecting communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure, stressing that government will continue to invest in modern firefighting equipment and training for personnel.
The Governor urged firefighters and emergency responders to maximize the use of the equipment in delivering efficient and professional services to the public.
