RE: DEJI APPROVES IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF BARR. GBENGA OJO AS IRALEPO OF ISINKAN: IRALEPO HAS NEVER BEEN APPOINTED BY THE DEJI
The attention of the Iralepo of Isinkan-in-council has been drawn to a press release by one Michael Adeyeye on the purported suspension of His Majesty Oba Olugbenga Ojo, the Iralepo of Isinkan by the Deji of Akure based on the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Akure Division today (yesterday).
We wish to say that the court merely gave a summary of the judgment assuring that the text would be made available later.
However it is important to state that the reason the Deji filed his suit which he lost at the High Court was that Iralepo title was upgraded and the incumbent appointed by government without his consent.
It therefore goes without saying that a person not responsible for an appointment is devoid of the power of its suspension.
The right of appeal is not peculiar to the Deji as same is still available to the Iralepo and other respondents in the appeal.
Once again we appeal to the good people of Isinkan to remain calm and discountenance the statement.
We want to assure you that Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) remains the Iralepo of Isinkan kingdom.
Signed
High Chief Kayode Oluyi
The Olisa of Isinkan kingdom
