
The Ondo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructural development with the ongoing construction of a 1000-meter concrete walkway and jetty at Obe Nla in Ilaje Local Government Area.
This project aligns with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s vision of ensuring balanced development across the state, particularly in riverine communities where accessibility and transportation remain key challenges.
During an inspection of the site on Wednesday March 5, 2025, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Abiola Ayorinde Olawoye, FNSE, led a team of experts and officials from the Ondo State Ministry of Works.
He emphasized the administration’s determination to transform the state’s infrastructural landscape, assuring residents that the project would significantly ease movement and improve economic activities in the coastal community.
Engr. Olawoye expressed confidence in the project’s timely completion, noting that the work already done demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering quality infrastructure.
“This project will ease the burdens of the people of Obe Nla community, and with what we met on ground, we are sure that the project will be completed in record time. This is one of the landmark projects of the governor, and this further assures that governance will reach every nook and cranny of the state,” he stated.
In the Inspection team were Engr. Akin Omotola, Administrative secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Ibidapo Ojo, Director Quality Control, Engr.Taiwo Somo- Aina, Director Planning, Engr.Michael Oluwatayo, Director, Civil Engineering, and Engr. Victor Oyelade Chief Resident Engineer.
