
Distinguished Public Health Expert Commends Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Commitment to Primary Healthcare in Ondo State
Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, a renowned international public health expert from Ondo State, has expressed profound appreciation for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s notable efforts in enhancing the funding of primary healthcare (PHC) in Ondo State. This initiative aligns with the healthcare improvement model embedded in the administration’s ‘OUR-EASE’ agenda.
Dr. Ajilo commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s strategic decision to increase PHC funding by 50%, underscoring the administration’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for all citizens, irrespective of their socioeconomic status.
Furthermore, the Governor’s approval of additional funds—₦66 million for the cold chain system, ₦50 million, and ₦16 million for key PHC infrastructure upgrades—will significantly bolster the state’s healthcare system.
According to Dr. Ajilo, these initiatives will lay the groundwork for a healthier society by making healthcare services more accessible, affordable, and community-centric.
He described the Governor’s prioritization of primary healthcare as a commendable effort to address the health needs of the populace, promote healthcare activities, prevent diseases, and provide treatment and rehabilitation services.
Dr. Ajilo urged the people of Ondo State to continue supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, which is working tirelessly to establish a strong and resilient health system and improve critical infrastructure in the state.
