A group working for the realization of the second term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, Grassroots Mobilization for Tinubu (GMT), Ondo State chapter, has announced Hon Saka Yusuf Ogunleye as its Director-General.
Yusuf-Ogunleye, a grassroot mobilizer was a pioneer state executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) between 2014 and 2017, he was the Director General Aketi campaign Organization for Akure North/South Federal Constituency for late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during the 2012 Governorship election.
Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye was the director of protocol, Aketi Campaign Organization in 2017 Governorship election and served as the coordinator for Akure North/ South during the primary elections.
It is on record that during the second term election of 2020 he was the state convener of Aketi Continuity Mandate Group, the group that canvassed support for late Akeredolu second term in office.
He was the DG of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa campaign Organization,tagged LACO Fs, Popularly called the “Red Barrett group”.
Laco Fs canvassed for Governor Aiyedatiwa, before ,during and after the primary elections.
Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye was a member of the state campaign committee for Dr Olusegun Mimiko, during the 2007 Governorship election.
He was a Director, Labour Party Election Committee for Akure North Local Government, Secretary, Labour party in Akure North and DG Ifedayo Abegunde , (ABENA ) campaign committee for house of representatives in 2011
During the administration of Dr Olusegun Mimiko, he was appointed Education secretary, Akure North local government in 2009.
Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye was a member of the Alliance for democracy and a councilorship candidate of the party in his Oba ile Ward 9 during the council elections of 1999.
It is also on record that Yusuf-Ogunleye was a member of the SDP, Hope 93′.
He was a National delegate of the APC three times and a member of the election committee alongside Senator Dino Melaye and Dr Chris Ngige during the ruling party’s first national convention .
The former works commissioner also served two terms as youths development and sports commissioner in the Sunshine state.

Meanwhile, the group had also announced Alhaji Rasheed Badmus as its State Secretary.
Alhaji Rasheed Badmus was the former chairman of chairmen of the ruling party in the state and the state deputy convener of Aketi Continuity Mandate group in the state.
He is also a Chieftain of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization, Laco Fs and its coordinator Akoko North West local government.
Alhaji Rasheed Badmus was a former Commissioner of Natural resources, former commissioner, Physical and Urban planning and immediate past commissioner arts and culture.
Badmus was a pioneer APC Local government chairman of Akoko North West .
He is a reputable Akoko born politician with great antecedents.
It is on record that Ondo State recorded the highest number of votes for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last presidential election a testimony that APC is waxing stronger in Ondo State under the chairmanship of the state party Chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin.
Under him the party recorded landslide victories , producing three senators , eight house of representative members and 22 state assembly members a clear indication that the solid foundation laid by late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, during his time is being followed by incumbent Governor Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, this could be attested to by the ongoing massive infrastructural developments and people oriented programs across the state .
