Youth Forum of NIGERIA INSTITUTE OF TOWN PLANNERS (NITP) advances for more importance of TOWN PLANNING:
YOUNG PLANNERS FORUM PROMOTES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AT OYEMEKUN GRAMMAR SCHOOL
The Nigeria Institute of Town Planners – Young Planners Forum (YPP), Ondo State Chapter, led by its State Coordinator, Tpl. Mrs. Joshua A. Deborah, paid a significant advocacy visit to Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, on Thursday, May 30th, 2025, to inspire the next generation on environmental stewardship.
Delivering a stirring address titled “Young Voices, Clean Choices: Empowering the Next Generation for Healthier Cities and a Brighter Tomorrow,” the forum emphasized the importance of instilling environmental values in young minds. The forum underscored the need for students to perceive their environment not just as a living space, but as a platform for nurturing dreams, creativity, and personal development.

In a gesture of support, the forum donated waste bins to promote cleanliness within the school premises and also awarded a scholarship to the best Geography students, reinforcing the importance of academic excellence in environmental and spatial sciences.
Tpl. Akin-Ojo further advocated for the integration of Town Planning principles in everyday life, highlighting that planning is not just a professional discipline but a catalyst for self, social, economic, and infrastructural development.
The outreach marks a major step in the forum’s drive to cultivate environmentally conscious and responsible future leaders in Ondo State.
