June 12: “I’ve walked the valleys with my people and felt their burdens” —Ondo Rep, Makinde

DEMOCRACY DAY 2025: HON. DR. ABIOLA MAKINDE VOWS TO KEEP THE FLAME OF REPRESENTATION BURNING BRIGHT.

Today, the sacred breeze of June 12 blows again, a powerful force that nurtures the embers of democracy and stirs the conscience of true leadership. On this significant day in Nigeria’s political history, Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, has once again affirmed his unwavering dedication to the cause of his people and the greater good of national development.

In the midst of stormy waters, Makinde has stood as a lighthouse, a beacon of responsive and compassionate representation. His message on Democracy Day is laced with conviction and clarity, reaffirming his commitment to remain a source of hope and progress for his constituents.

“I have walked the valleys with my people and felt their burdens. My mission has always been to bring relief where pain resides and ignite hope where dreams were fading,” he declared. “Representation is not a favour—it is a sacred duty.”

“As politicians, we must be Democrats steadfastly, not merely on days that align with our personal interests or political ambitions. Only by doing so can we consistently honour the founding fathers of democracy of our great nation.”

He further called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of June 12 as a living creed—not just a memorial. “Let it remind us all that power truly belongs to the people, and those who bear the mandate must serve with clean hands and open hearts.”

As the sun rises on this Democracy Day, Makinde’s words resonate with the weight of action and the beauty of patriotism. The journey continues, the mission endures, and the flame of true service shall never flicker.
