IFEDORE YOUTH LEADERS CONDEMN IN TOTALITY THE POLITICALLY MOTIVATED BLACKMAIL AGAINST HON. (BARR.) TEMITOPE KOMOLAFE
The attention of the Ifedore Youth Leadership Forum has been drawn to the incessant and malicious blackmail directed at one of our most outstanding legislators, Hon. (Barr.) Temitope Komolafe—Member Representing Ifedore State Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly. After a thorough review of the facts, the forum wishes to categorically condemn, in the strongest of terms, the ongoing character assassination against this noble servant of the people.
It is both shameful and regrettable that an individual, driven by personal vendetta and perhaps sponsored by desperate political detractors, has made it his sole mission to consistently malign the image of Hon. Komolafe. What is even more disturbing is that this despicable act of blackmail began barely weeks into Hon. Komolafe’s assumption of office—before he even had the opportunity to fully settle into the duties of his legislative mandate.
For the records:
- The said blackmailer has been repeatedly warned by respected individuals, youth leaders, and elders across Ifedore. His actions have not only discredited him, but have also drawn widespread condemnation from all corners of the constituency.
- In an act of outrageous irresponsibility, this same individual once leveled a grievous accusation of murder against Hon. Komolafe—a claim so false, vile, and utterly baseless that it shocked even his most ardent sympathizers. This dangerous tactic only confirms his malicious intent to destroy a man’s hard-earned reputation.
- In response to his constant defamatory outbursts and inciting messages, the youth across Igbara-Oke and Ifedore have unanimously removed him from all public and civic platforms to prevent the further dissemination of lies and misinformation.
- Contrary to the false narrative being pushed, Hon. Temitope Komolafe has acted with utmost maturity and restraint, consistently reporting the matter to family members and respected elders in a bid to find a peaceful resolution. His conduct exemplifies the character of a true statesman, who prioritizes unity, peace, and dialogue over bitterness and vendetta.
- Yet, in defiance of peace efforts, the blackmailer shamelessly responded with the threat: “Mo ma finish career ni” (translated as “I will destroy his career”). This brazen declaration reveals the depth of his malicious agenda and the extent he is willing to go to cause public unrest.
- In light of this sustained defamation and calculated public incitement, we strongly advise Hon. Temitope Komolafe to pursue legal redress. The law must be allowed to take its course so that this reckless impunity is curtailed and democracy is not trampled upon in the name of politics.
As youth leaders, we will not stand idly while our constituency is polluted by the venom of blackmailers and political hitmen masquerading as concerned citizens. We reiterate our full support for Hon. (Barr.) Temitope Komolafe and call on all well-meaning constituents to rise in defence of truth, justice, and responsible leadership.
Politics must be played with decency, dignity, and decorum—not with the weapons of lies, hate, and malicious propaganda.
