Hon. Olakunle Michael Afolabi, popularly known as Hon. Mikey, has extended warm congratulations to Chief Ifedayo Abegunde, fondly called Abena, on the occasion of his 70th birthday celebration.
The APC stalwart joined numerous well-wishers across the state and country in honouring the former Secretary to the State Government for his life of service and accomplishment.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon. Mikey described Chief Abegunde as an astute politician and a dedicated public servant who has contributed significantly to the socio-political development of Akure, Ondo State, and Nigeria as a whole. He noted that Abena’s leadership legacy and commitment to community advancement continue to inspire many within and beyond the political space.
Hon. Mikey also congratulated Chief Abegunde on his recent installation as the Asiwaju of Akure Kingdom, a chieftaincy title he described as a well-deserved recognition of Abena’s longstanding loyalty, philanthropy, and tireless efforts in promoting the progress of the ancient city and its people.
He prayed for Chief Abegunde to enjoy long life, strength, and continued wisdom to contribute even more to the growth and unity of Akure Kingdom, Ondo State, and the nation at large, describing him as a living legend and pillar of leadership.
