APC Stakeholders kick against Fayemi’s political meeting to prepare ground for ADC in Ekiti

…..EKITI APC LEADERS AND STATE GOVERNMENT OPPOSE KAYODE FAYEMI SURREPTITIOUS MOVES AND ATTEMPT TO PREPARE GROUNDS FOR ADC IN EKITI STATE

Notable Stakeholders in Ekiti State’s rulling All Progressives Congress (APC) have dissociated themselves from the purported APC Stakeholders meeting being called by former Governor of the State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, for Saturday, 19th July, 2025, at his Isan Ekiti country home.

Key Stakeholders who spoke with newsmen on the development, condemned the surreptitious moves of the former Governor as a mark of desperation by “an aggrieved and manipulative political marauder who is bent on dividing the APC in Ekiti State just because he failed in his bid to be reappointed a Minister or Ambassador because he believes it is his birthright to always be given a big position in every administration even when he had not merited same.”

Fayemi has allegedly called the meeting of former and serving councillors, Local Govt Chairmen, as well as former and serving State House of Assembly members, Commissioners and other categories of stakeholders to a meeting at Isan Ekiti this weekend.

Sources close to the State Govt as well as APC leadership in Ekiti disclosed that both the Governor and party leaders are totally opposed to the planned meeting, which they insist Fayemi is calling to send a signal to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition cohorts that he is on ground.

Many of the people invited to the meeting have declined while other stakeholders are threatening to resist the clandestine moves of Fayemi to divide the party in Ekiti state.

Some serving members of the House of Assembly are threatening to commence an impeachment proceeding against the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, if he shows up at the said meeting.

Those close to Otunba Niyi Adebayo, who is a former Governor like Fayemi and in whose house Ekiti APC leadership meetings usually hold, also expressed their disaffection and queried why Fayemi would call such a meeting without informing Otunba Adebayo, wondering why Fayemi would call such a divisive meeting when the leadership of APC in Ekiti had already scheduled a massive rally for July 28, 2025 to adopt President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office; and insisting that it was a “mindless treachery that would be resisted by all means.”

All efforts to get the reaction of the former governor Fayemi was not successful as at the time of filing in this report.
