EXPOSING A FABRICATED COURTROOM STORY: A BLATANT CASE OF FALSE REPORTING

Refutation to False Report: “Drama in Akure Court as Woman Accuses Ex-Husband of Marrying Divorce Lawyer”

The report titled “Drama in Akure Court as Woman Accuses Ex-Husband of Marrying Divorce Lawyer” is entirely false and fabricated. Upon being contacted by the NBA Akure Chapter, led by Onimisi Friday Esq, and other stakeholders about this news, a thorough investigation was conducted to verify its authenticity.

Findings:
The findings show that the report is fictitious, mischievous, and a crude attempt to generate traffic. Specifically:

  • The name “Ireti Sunday,” who purportedly presided over the matter in Akure, does not exist among members of the Grade A and Grade B Customary Courts in Ondo State.
  • Mr. Theophilous Orimoloye, Director of Establishment of the Customary Court of Appeal, Ondo State, confirmed that there is no record of such a person as “Ireti Sunday” serving in the Customary Courts.

Conclusion:
This report is a malicious attempt to embarrass the noble profession. Based on these findings, the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Ondo State, Hon. Justice Eunice Aderonke Alade (PCCA), has directed that this report be made public, highlighting the falsehood and mischief behind the publication.

Call to Action:
We stand united with NBA in condemning this unprofessional and irresponsible reporting. We expect the NBA to take decisive steps to protect the integrity of the legal profession and hold those responsible for this fabrication accountable.

Sincerely,
His Worship Rotiba Segun,
Chairman, Association of Grade A Customary Court Presidents.
