It was a gathering of Crème de la crème of Ondo State and beyond in Akure at the weekend (Saturday 26th July, 2025), when drums were rolled out to celebrate the Golden Jubilee/50th Birthday of the Wife of the Ondo State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mrs Omobola Grace Ademola-Olapade.
During the event held at The NUP Event Centre, Oda road, Akure, the husband of the Celebrator and the State NLC Chairman, Comrade (Prince) Ademola Adeniji Olapade who doubles as the State Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), who was full of joy, led dancing steps with his children to celebrate their Matriarch on her milestone age of half of the century.
The NCSU National President, Comrade Sunday Adeleye Oluwole who is also the NLC Vice President, led large number of labour leaders to the colourful event which also has in in attendance the Ondo State Chairman of the Joint Negiotiating Council (JNC), Comrade (Chief) Oluwasegun Ajiboye.
Rev. Agboola Ishola of His Mission on Earth Ministry, Akure prayed for Mrs Omobola Grace Olapade and immediate family during the event, while Abel Adesiji band, a top Ondo State based musician entertained guests at the ceremony.
Even as both serving and former unionists from all affiliate unions graced the venue to honour one of the leaders who is number one labour leader in the state, and on the roll-call were; the NLC Chairman in Ekiti State, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde; the General Secretary of the NCSU, Com Gbenga Olowoyo; the Ondo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Prince Leke Adegbite; the Ondo State SAC members including Com. Akinyemi Olatunbosun, Com. Adewale Sanusi, Com (Mrs) Susan Adewunmi; Ondo NLC/NUP Secretary, Com. Akin Sunday; the State Chairman of the Association of Senior Civil Servants, Comrade Musa Samuel among others.
Speaking at the occasion, the NCSU National President, Comrade Sunday Adeleye Oluwole who is a bossom friend to the celebrant’s husband, described her as a reliable and Easygoing woman who has always been supportive to her husband.
Some of the siblings of the celebrant, who spoke, described her as a very accommodating, caring, hard working and good role model to them.
The Children of the celebrant also took turns to pay tribute to their sweet mother, whom they reffered to as a super caring and best gift from God.
On his part, the husband of the celebrator and Ondo State NLC Chairman, Comrade (Prince) Ademola Adeniji Olapade, affirmed that his wife deserves to be celebrared anytime, anyday and epitome of a good partner and companion.
The NLC Chairman also described his wife, Mrs Omobola Olapade, as his prayer worrior, humble, resourceful partner and a woman who is committed to his progress despite numerous challenges of life.
Responding, the celebrant, Mrs Omobola Grace Ademola- Olapade flanked by her husband, expressed appreciation to Almighty God for His grace to enable her witness the special day and to celebrate her 50th birthday, extending sincere appreciation to her husband, children, family members and other guests who honoured her on her Golden Jubilee Celebration.
