Ondo Govt launches Adiye Irorun, Youth Empowerment through Poultry Farming

The Ondo State Government has launched Adiye Irorun, a Youth Empowerment programme through Poultry Farming in the state.

Adiye Irorun: A New Dawn for Youth Empowerment through Poultry Farming in Ondo State

On Monday, 11th August , 2025, a significant event unfolded as the Adiye Irorun program was officially introduced in Ondo State. Spearheaded by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiydatiwa and launched under the guidance of the Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Hon. Akinsola Wemimo Rotimi, this initiative is set to transform the lives of jobless youth across the 18 local governments of the state.

A Comprehensive Chicken Rearing Program

The Adiye Irorun program aims to equip young people with essential skills and resources for thriving in the poultry industry. Participants will receive day-old chicks and will be responsible for raising them over a 6-week period. The program is fully funded, ensuring that all costs associated with raising the birds will be deducted at the end.

Empowering Jobless Youth

This initiative represents a sustainable pathway for youth employment. With the potential to generate millions every six weeks, participants can look forward to significant income that could change their lives.

Importantly, Adiye Irorun is designed to be continuous, offering ongoing opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

Drugs for the chicks to ensure their health and productivity.

Physical verification of poultry pens to guarantee compliance with industry standards.

Tailored training to equip them with the necessary skills for effective chicken rearing.
