
Following the killing of young businessman, Mr. Okudili Okoro, and the abduction of a businesswomam, Mrs. Orogun, the Regent of Ayede Ogbese, Princess (Dr.) Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, has condemned in strong terms, calling on residents to remain calm and vigilant.
In a statement issued from the palace and made available to SUNSHINETRUTH News on Monday, the Regent described the incidents of Thursday, August 14, 2025, as “heartrending and dastardly.”
She pointed out that the entire community has been thrown into mourning.
The Regent said, “we deeply regret the tragic murder of Mr. Okudili Okoro and the abduction of Mrs. Orogun. Our hearts are with the affected families and the good people of Ayede Ogbese during this painful period,” she said.
Following the incident, the Regent confirmed that urgent contact was made with the Ondo State Commissioner of Police and the Commandant of the Amotekun Corps, with security operatives immediately mobilised to restore calm.
“Reinforcements have been placed on ground to protect lives and ensure peace across the town. I appeal to all citizens of Ayede Ogbese to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding,” Princess Oluyede-Campbell urged.
She further cautioned against panic or the spread of false rumours, assuring residents that the palace and government security agencies are working hand in hand to track down the perpetrators.
“The killers of Mr. Okoro and those behind Mrs. Orogun’s abduction will not escape justice. This is a dark moment, but with unity and God’s guidance, Ayede Ogbese will overcome,” the Regent vowed.
The palace emphasized its unwavering commitment to law, order, peace, and the protection of lives, praying for the safe return of the abducted victim and eternal rest for the slain businessman.
“May the soul of our dearly departed rest in perfect peace, and may Almighty God continue to protect and preserve Ayede Ogbese,” the Regent added.
