A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wale Adefila James, has formally announced his intention to contest for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general election.
Adefila, who hails from Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area, made the declaration at the APC Secretariat in Igbara-Oke, headquarters of the council area.
Speaking at the event, Adefila said his ambition was driven by an age-long passion to serve his people and to improve their living conditions.
“The desire to serve is an inborn tendency. At this age, I see it as an opportunity to offer myself for service simply because I care about the welfare of my people at the federal and state levels,” he said.
He stressed his commitment to transparent, inclusive and accountable representation, pledging to remain close to the grassroots.
“I live in the midst of the people. Anytime I come home, I don’t lodge in hotels; I stay with my people in Ilara. I listen to their plight, I know their yearnings, and I have built myself to offer excellent and incorruptible leadership,” Adefila declared.
According to him, if given the mandate, he would ensure better representation, infrastructure development, and a leadership style rooted in transparency and regular interaction with constituents.
“I will discharge absolute transparency and dedication. My goal is to give Ifedore and Ondo State the kind of representation that will make the black race proud,” he added.
Chairman of the APC in Ifedore, Tunde Fawoyi, described Adefila as a tested hand and pledged the party’s support for his ambition.
