Ondo Govt releases Verification guidelines for pensioners

ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENCES STATEWIDE VERIFICATION EXERCISE FOR PENSIONERS FROM YEAR 2016 TILL DATE.

The Ondo State Government, through the State Pension Transitional Department, has announced the commencement of a statewide verification exercise for all Pensioners from year 2016 till date.

According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Department, Chief Bunmi Alade, the exercise is designed to ensure accurate pension records, eliminate ghost pensioners, and guarantee the prompt and seamless payment of pensions and gratuities to all eligible beneficiaries.

All affected Pensioners are therefore expected to present themselves at the designated verification centres with the following documents:

Letter of Approval of Retirement

Payment Voucher

Bank Verification Number (BVN) Certificate

Pensioner’s Identity Card (or any valid means of identification)

For deceased Pensioners next-of-kin or representatives, they are also required to provide the underlisted documents;

  1. Letter of Administration
  2. Affidavit of Next of Kin

The Verification Exercise is scheduled as follows;

Tuesday 2nd & Wednesday 3rd September, 2025;
Ilaje, Okitipupa, Irele/Ese-Odo, and Odigbo LGAs

Thursday 4th & Friday 5th September, 2025;
Ondo West, Ondo East, and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo LGAs

Monday 8th & Tuesday 9th September, 2025.
Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East, and Akoko South-West LGAs

Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th September, 2025. Owo and Ose LGAs (Ifon and Idoani)

Friday 12th September, 2025. Ifedore and Idanre LGAs

Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th September, 2025.
Akure North and Akure South LGAs (Monday to Thursday)

The exercise will take place at the headquarters of each Local Government Area or any other venue agreed upon by the Local Branch of Union of Pensioners.(NUP)

Pensioners are strongly advised to attend the exercise in person, as proxies will not be allowed.
