ONDO STATE POLICE COMMAND BURSTS INTERSTATE MOTORCYCLE-SNATCHING SYNDICATE, RECOVERS SEVEN STOLEN MOTORCYCLES
The Ondo State Police Command, under the proactive leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc+, mnips, has recorded another major breakthrough in its sustained onslaught against crime and criminality.
On 29th August 2025, at about 1100hrs, one Boluwaji Samuel ‘m’ of Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, reported at the Command that on 20th August 2025, he woke up in his residence at Ikere-Ekiti only to discover that his NEO NX Blue TUS Lady’s motorcycle, with chassis number MK2B3AIHZNJ009414, valued at ₦500,000 and purchased in 2022, had been stolen.
Following discreet, intelligence-led investigation, the stolen motorcycle was traced to Oluwafemi Benjamin ‘m’ and Seyi ‘m’ in Akure.
Further investigation led police operatives to one of their gang members in Owo, where an additional six (6) motorcycles, suspected to have been stolen at different points and locations within and outside Ondo State, were recovered. This brings the total number of motorcycles recovered to seven (7). The criminal gang has long been terrorizing the good citizens of the state and its neighboring environments, dispossessing them of their hard-earned money and properties.
In light of this development, members of the public who have lost their motorcycles are hereby urged to come forward with credible proof of ownership for possible identification and recovery.
This remarkable feat underscores the renewed policing strategies being vigorously pursued under the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, whose people-centered vision and crime-prevention drive have continued to strengthen police operations nationwide.
The Ondo State Police Command remains resolute in translating this vision into visible results, thereby restoring public confidence and ensuring a safer society for all.
The Commissioner of Police assures the good people of Ondo State that the Command will not relent until all acts of crime and criminality are drastically curtailed. He further appeals to the public for continued cooperation by promptly volunteering timely, accurate, and actionable information that can assist the police in fulfilling their constitutional mandate.
