AJOBIEWE CHAMPIONS EMPOWERMENT, PLEDGES GREATER SERVICE TO COMMUNITY
……On a scale of 1 to 10, he rates Aiyedatiwa ten. Within just 6 months in office, he has executed unprecedented projects.
Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor, Hon David Ajobiewe, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment, youth development and community service, insisting that politics must be centred on people-oriented programmes rather than personal gain.
Ajobiewe, who hails from Oka Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government in an interview with Weekend Hope News Magazine, explained that his political journey has been shaped by his passion to uplift the less privileged, strengthen education, improve healthcare and boost agriculture.
He recalled that his empowerment drive began years ago with widows, when he initiated an annual programme that caters for 100 widows across wards Oka Akoko.
According to him, the initiative not only touched lives but also attracted more supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Interestingly, some of these women initially belonged to the opposition, but after benefitting from my programme, they joined the APC. That singular initiative boosted our party’s strength in the area,” he said.
Ajobiewe also highlighted his interventions in healthcare, recalling how he renovated an abandoned clinic in Oka Akoko and partnered with a pharmaceutical company to supply drugs.

“Beyond that, I organise annual free medical outreaches. Thousands have benefitted, while chronic cases are referred to the general hospital, where I personally bear the cost of treatment. The last outreach, which was the Fourth Edition, was dedicated to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and residents offered prayers for him,” he stated.
He added that his entry into politics was motivated by his love for the people, not bitterness or self-interest. “I am an engineer with a small construction company. Politics for me is about development, not enrichment,” he said.
Though he has twice contested for the House of Assembly without success in clinching the party ticket, Ajobiewe said he remains undeterred in his service.
Hon Ajobiewe pointed out that in the forthcoming 2027 election, if an area with 5 wards, which has the majority of voters, feels politically sidelined in favor of an area with only 3 wards, as was the case with the party leadership in the 2023 election, such a miscalculation in the allocation of the MHA party ticket could hurt APC in 2027. He further expressed confidence that our capable leaders would work to ensure the party occupies all 26 seats in the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Looking ahead, Ajobiewe said if called upon by his supporters and leaders to contest in 2027, he would not turn down the call to serve.
On Governor Aiyedatiwa’s performance, he said: “On a scale of one to ten, I rate him ten. Within just six months in office, he has executed unprecedented projects in infrastructure, empowerment, education and many more.
Recently, he approved N350m scholarship and bursary for indigent students. That is highly commendable.
