Ondo APC Chieftain, Hon Adebusuyi backs Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Agric policies, seeks resuscitation of Agric inputs

A chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, Hon. Idowu Pius Adebusuyi has applauded the agricultural economic advanced steps taken by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in tackling food insecurity in the state.

He made this commendation while making comments and contributions to the growth and development of the agricultural sector and some other critical issues lingering the economy of the state.

The Commissioner 1 at the Ondo State House Of Assembly Service Commission, attributed his credit to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the 7.5 billion earmarked to the agricultural sector to enhance food security through adequate provision of land for agricultural investments.

The former lawmaker said the gesture of the governor demonstrated his good leadership and sense of deliberate act in creating a sustainable economy for the people, particularly in the provisions of food, enabling the people to survive with thriving developmental projects in agriculture.

“I am grateful to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for hearing the cry of the people, understanding the critical role of agriculture and farmers in the growth of the state economy”

“Meanwhile, I will still advise the governor to look into the area of providing more tractors to each Local Government areas to facilitate mechanized farming by advancing the farming system to enhance large productions of farm produce”.

He added that, collaborative efforts should also be considered in strengthening the Spector particularly in providing storage facilities to abate wastage of farm produce especially the perishable produce.

“Its a major concern for us in the country by lacking facility storage to store the excess of farm produce and this has resulted to waste of produce and led farmers to a serious debt in most cases and this is not good for our farmers, therefore government should also consider in revitalizing our moribund “silos” in our various States”.

The Agriculture expert, also said state government through the ministry of agriculture should make available of farm inputs which have also been a long challenge for the farmers in terms of buying the inputs in high price and leaving them in a dark market in reselling outputs costly.

While commenting on other national issues, he called on the federal government to take alternative measures in revatiling the moribund refineries which is the most serious worrisome situation affecting the nation economy.

Adebusuyi, thereafter stressed the need for Ondo state government to utilize the policy of creating sustainable growth within the local government areas by foreseen a comparative advantage of each Local government with their different resources utilization.
