THE PASSING OF SHEIKH ALADESAWE
It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of Sheikh (Dr.) Imam Alhaji Mayor Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, the Chief Imam of Owo, who until his demise at the age of 91 served as the Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State, as well as the League’s Secretary-General in the Southwest, Edo, and Delta States.
The late Sheikh Aladesawe was a revered cleric, a spiritual guide of uncommon wisdom, and a source of inspiration to the Muslim Ummah and the larger society.
His life was dedicated to the service of Allah (SWT) and humanity, and he will be fondly remembered for his unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and moral guidance.
On behalf of the Government and people of Ondo State, I extend heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire people of Owo.
Though we mourn his departure, we take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life of faith, knowledge, and impact.
We pray Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and grant comfort to all who mourn this great loss.

HON. OLUWOLE EMMANUEL OGUNMOLASUYI COMMISERATES WITH OWO MUSLIM COMMUNITY ON THE PASSING OF CHIEF IMAM, ALHAJI ALADESAWE
…..Urges Family to accept Allah’s wishes and carry on his legacy
…..Offers messages of hope to the entire Owo Muslim Community
I received the news of the passing of the Chief Imam of Owo, Alhaji Aladesawe, with deep sadness. He was a revered cleric, a guiding light, and a spiritual leader whose life was dedicated to serving Allah and humanity.
Alhaji Aladesawe was more than a religious leader; he was a man of peace, wisdom, and compassion whose guidance strengthened the Owo Muslim community and whose teachings inspired countless lives. His departure is not only a painful loss to the Muslim Ummah in Owo but also to the entire Owo Kingdom.
As the Holy Qur’an reminds us:
“Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds — they will have the Gardens of al-Firdaus as a lodging. They will abide therein forever, never desiring from it any transfer.” (Qur’an 18:107-108). We take solace in the promise of Allah that faithful servants like Alhaji Aladesawe, who dedicated their lives to prayer, service, and community upliftment, will find eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
On behalf of myself and the good people of Owo Constituency 1, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, the entire Owo Muslim Community, and indeed the people of Owo Kingdom. I pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed eternal rest, forgives his shortcomings, and strengthens his family and the Muslim Ummah to bear this irreplaceable loss.
May Alhaji Aladesawe’s noble legacy of faith and service continue to inspire us all.
Signed:
Hon. Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi
