….PNT DG reveals How Tunji-Ojo, Adetimehin facilitated the alliance, empowers women in 18 LGAs

The Action Alliance (AA) and a support group, Progressives Network For Tinubu (PNT), have formed an alignment in Ondo State boost reflection project of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during a strategic meeting between the group and the political party, on Akure, the state capital, the Director General (DG) of PNT, Pastor Olumide Obadele, said the alliance was facilitated by the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Engr. Ade Adetimehin.
In addition, the PNT Director General announced 20,000 naira each cash empowerment to Action Alliance women across the 18 Local Government on Ondo State.
Obadele said the alliance between the two groups was part of the efforts to have a strong support base to deliver over 80 percent total votes to be cast in Ondo State to President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Obadele said the coalition would ensure the massive turnout of voters to cast their votes in the 2027 presidential election, unlike the previous elections where there was voter apathy.
According to him, “During the 2023 presidential election, out of the 1,991,344 registered voters in Ondo State only 532, 739 exercised their franchise on election day, and this translated to a worrisome 28.62 percent of votes. For us in the PNT, this is nothing but voter apathy, and it is not good enough for our growing democracy. We have the strong belief that the pattern can change and must change in 2027.”
Obadele said: ‘It is against this backdrop that we have picked up the challenge to educate, enlighten, and ultimately mobilise the electorate in the nooks and crannies of Ondo State to be part of the emergence of a new Nigeria by supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term as he rewrites our national history. They can only do this by being part of the voting exercise. Please note that it is not yet time for campaigns and we are not doing that now.
“You will all agree with me that the present administration has performed so well that our economic and socio-political trajectory is being repositioned for a better working country. When the time comes, we shall begin to reel out the numerous achievements in the economy, agriculture, infrastructure, and many more for an objective and proper assessment of the Tinubu administration.
“Our approach in the PNT majorly is to reach out to all eligible voters in Ondo State, not necessarily party members. We talk to groups, opposition parties, organisations, religious bodies, elites as well as illiterates. As long as they are eligible voters, they are our target. Though of the All Progressives Congress, it is not all about the party or party members, we are for Asiwaju.
“This is what informed the constitution of our group as a blend of old and new politicians; full of drive and energy – goal getters and passion-driven. We are not violent, we are not cantankerous, we hold no grudge against anyone, we are peace ambassadors answerable to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.”
AA JUSTIFIES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU AHEAD OF 2027
In his remarks, Comrade Fred Akinuli, the Ondo State Chairman Of Action Alliance (AA) and Former Governorship Candidate in November 16th 2024 Governorship Election, said henceforth all political structures of the party in the state would align with PNT to boost grassroots support for the reelection of President Tinubu.
However, the opposition AA leaders and members said it would remain in their political party and work for the victory of President Tinubu, who they said has positively impacted the nation’s economy.
Akinuli said, “Permit me to acknowledge the support of the Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo for PNT and for providing the leadership to mobilise grassroot support for Asiwaju Bola Ahamed Tinubu here in Ondo State. You have indeed provide uncommon leadership.
“Let me also acknowledge the wonderful supports and hands of fellowship extended to our party by the Director General of PNT, Pastor Olumide Obadele and his team.
“We viewed this as an opportunity to showcase our numerical strengths across the state in a well-coordinated group like (PNT) to support the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second term in office.
“We are indeed very grateful to the National Chairman of Action Alliance, Chief (Barr) Kenneth Udeze and the National Secretary, Hon. Vernimbe James for providing exemplary leadership.
“It’s on record that Action Alliance has contributed greatly to the growth and strength of democracy in Ondo State politics and Nigeria as a whole.
“We are bold to say that our party have formidable structures with grassroot political drive across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.
“Our conviction as a party to officially align through this meeting with PNT was based on the true and sincere commitment of the group to grassroots mobilization of electorates in Ondo State for landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in office.
“Our conviction was also based on the PNT approach to embrace people from other political parties, irrespective of their political affiliations, but with strong believe in the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027 general election.
“This noble ideology of PNT to partner other political parties and to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu second term bid is a good development to happen, that will not only be embraced by Action Alliance, but other political parties and groups will follow suit in the nearest time.
“This is a meeting to synergize with PNT and not a campaign effort whatsoever, as we are fully aware that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to lift ban for open campaigns. We have resolved to support, propagate and promote the good work of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a strategic alignment with PNT across length and breadth of Ondo State to deliver not less than 80,000 votes come 2027 general election.
“Let me once again once again assure the leadership of PNT that our party shall work assiduously with you in all the 18 local government and 203 wards in Ondo State to achieve good result in the great task ahead.
“We believed God has chosen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be in the vanguard of reformation and positive change in Nigeria.
“We therefore pray that God will grant him long life to perfect the legacy of total development he has already laid.
“Finally, I thank the leadership of PNT once again for providing the necessary supports for the success of this meeting and be rest assured that we all shall reap the dividend of democracy in Tinubu Administration, for the total emancipation of the less privilege.”
