SEN. IPINSAGBA CONGRATULATES GOV. AIYEDATIWA ON SUPREME COURT VICTORY

The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Senator (Dr) Olajide Ipinsagba, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, his Deputy Dr. Olayide Adelami, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on their resounding victory at the Supreme Court, which has affirmed the outcome of the November 16, 2024 governorship election in Ondo State.
In a congratulatory message he personally signed, Senator Ipinsagba described the Supreme Court verdict as “a triumph of democracy and the will of the people.”
At its sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, the apex court dismissed the appeals challenging Governor Aiyedatiwa’s election, following voluntary withdrawal by obe of the appellants, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Ajayi’s counsel informed the court that the withdrawal came after wide consultations within the PDP.
The court also dismissed the appeals filed by Bamidele Akingboye of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Ogunfeyimi Kolawole of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
With this judgment, Governor Aiyedatiwa has now received a final legal endorsement of the people’s mandate freely given to him at the polls.
Senator Ipinsagba hailed the verdict as a “historic affirmation of the rule of law and a resounding testament to the credibility of Nigeria’s judicial system.” He commended the Supreme Court for upholding justice with integrity, professionalism, and transparency.
The Senator also extended his appreciation to the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, for his visionary and steady leadership, which contributed significantly to the party’s success at all levels.
He further applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s legal team for their professionalism, diligence and the maturity they displayed throughout the litigation process.
“The will of the people has once again prevailed. It is time to move beyond litigation and focus on governance, unity, and service to our people,” Senator Ipinsagba stated.
