BOREHOLES APPROVAL: GOV AIYEDATIWA PRAISED FOR PRIORITISING CHILDREN, WOMEN ISSUES

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the construction of three boreholes at three different strategic locations under the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

The benefiting institutions include the Ondo State Correctional Centre, the Children’s Home, and the State Ministry headquarters.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, expressed gratitude to the governor, noting that the intervention would bring lasting relief to the facilities which had been struggling with inadequate and unsafe water supply.

She stressed that access to clean water is not only essential for daily living but also critical to the health, hygiene, and overall well-being of children, women, and other vulnerable groups.

According to Dr. Osamaye, the immediate commencement of the project signals Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the people, particularly children, women, and those in correctional custody.

She added that the initiative aligns with the governor’s broader agenda of prioritizing social welfare and sustainable development in the state.

The borehole project, when completed, is expected to drastically reduce water-related challenges in these institutions and provide a safer and more conducive environment for residents and staff alike.
