Akoko Youths Forum holds annual summit, empowers members

The umbrella body for youths across the four (4) local government areas in Akoko, the largest ethnic group in Ondo State, Akoko Youth forum has empowered forty (40) members of the group at its annual youth summit.

The summit which was held on Saturday in Ugbe Akoko had in attendance youths from various communities across the four local governments.

At the summit, themed: “Advancing youth development through innovation and leadership”, the audience were taken through a panel session on business and technology related topics.

The President of the organization, Akeju Blessing James while giving the opening remarks, appreciated members for staying true and steadfast during difficult times.

He commended their resilience and assured them of the continued service of the National executives.

“Today represents an historic moment in the history of this organization. We will be changing the lives of 40 young persons in Akoko today by empowering them to build a life for themselves.

“We appreciate the members for their support so far and our sponsors. You all made this possible.”

On his own part, the Chairman of the planning committee, represented by the deputy, Prince Ademuwagun called for a united Akoko nation.

“We can do more together as one. The development of Akoko depends on our decision to work together as one. I appreciate the Central Planning Committee, National Executives and members of the association for a successful summit despite the difficulties we encountered.”

Dr Bayo IPTP DIRECTOR AAUA who was a guest speaker at the event emphasized that the agitation for the creation of Ose state lies with the oneness of Akoko, because it will be the majority tribe in the marriage.

The local government Chairman of Akoko North East local government area, Honorable Mutiu Olawale Mohammed commended the leadership of the organization for putting up an initiative to empower its members.

He noted that this aligns with his vision to see young persons thrive and make a decent living in the society.
