Gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Skill Up a woman initiative set to graduate Trainees

The O’datiwa Women Free Skills Acquisition Training Program, launched by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, is set to graduate trainees in the catering class.

The program which started in February, has allowed trainees to hone their culinary skills, showcasing their progress in a recent practical session at the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Akure

The students who prepared different cuisines and confectionery were evaluated by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Bosede Osamaye, who commended the trainees for their professionalism.

The Commissioner said the initiative was part of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Ease Agenda and its focus on women’s empowerment, making women skilled entrepreneurs in the food service, catering, and hospitality sector.

Dr. Osamaye was impressed by the quality and presentation of the trainees, praising their culinary expertise and urging them to maintain their dedication.

Also assessing the trainees, National President of the Female Progressive Skilled Artisan Initiative, Dr. Jumoke Aborode, also commended their efforts, placing an order for 30 sandwiches and encouraging the trainees to perfect local dishes and soups while staying committed to their growth.

Some of the Facilitators, Mrs. Ruth Olagundoye, Mrs. Mariam Yusuf, Mrs. Bukola Tinubu, and a student, Mrs. Bukola Olaseni, highlighted the transformative impact of hands-on training, noting its role in equipping participants with skills to earn a living and contribute to society.

Previous sessions featured skills in areas like doughnuts, chinchin, puff-puff, and buns, as well as preparing tomato paste and sardines.
