The BAT-STEM Initiative 2.0, a flagship programme under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, has extended its reach to Ondo State, with field visits to schools in Akure on Friday, October 3, 2025.
The project, anchored by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-West), Hon. Moremi Ojudu, aims to promote grassroots development through education and technology.
In Ondo State, the initiative was coordinated by Comrade Okunoye Kabiru Bola, the State Coordinator for Community Engagement, who led the distribution of learning materials and school items to pupils in selected schools.
At St. James C.A.C Caring Heart Mega Primary School, Irowo, Akure, the team handed out educational supplies to pupils in an event that drew enthusiastic participation from students and teachers.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for what they described as direct federal government support to schools at the grassroots.
The team also visited Iloro Community Primary School, Akure, where educational support materials were distributed and interactions were held with pupils and school leadership.
According to the organisers, the engagement was not just about providing resources but about strengthening community trust and inspiring hope.
Speaking after the visits, Okunoye commended Hon. Ojudu for what he described as her “strategic inclusion of Ondo State in the BAT-STEM Project 2.0,” adding that her commitment to equitable development and grassroots transformation “remains a beacon of leadership.”
He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for ensuring that federal initiatives continue to make tangible impact in education across communities.
“The excitement and gratitude from the school communities testify to the positive impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
This initiative shows that no child will be left behind on the path to quality education,” he said.
The Ondo State field visits, according to the organisers, mark a milestone in community engagement and educational development, reflecting the federal government’s resolve to deepen its presence at the grassroots.
They added that similar interventions would be expanded across more communities in Ondo and other South-West states in the coming months.
