
A former Commissioner for Works in Ondo State, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro has been described as a visionary and selfless leader.
This was contained in a congratulatory message by a socio-political group, Youths Integrity Group, in Ondo State on Sunday to Adegbenro on his 55th birthday anniversary.
Making reference to the contributions of the celebrant to the state when he held sway as the Commissioner for Works during the administration of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, the group said his impact in the designing of roads and other infrastructure gave the state capital, Akure, and some other cities and towns in the state a facelift.
According to the statement signed by the President of the group, Toluwani Adebayo, and made available to journalists on Sunday in Akure, Adegbenro was said to have continued to make impact in the lives of many, especially the underprivileged persons, even when out of office.
The statement reads inter alia: “It’s imperative for us to join millions of Nigerians who are celebrating a true ‘Omoluabi’ of Yoruba, Engineer Gboye Adegbenro on his 55th birthday.
“He’s known to many people within and beyond Ondo State, for his tremendous contributions to the development of our dear state.
“When he was the state Commissioner for Works under our able political leader in the state, former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Engineer Gboye Adegbenro performed creditably well by designing lasting roads and other infrastructure facilities for the state government.
“He’s a visionary leader judging by his impact he made in the state while in office. He also serves the state and the people selflessly.
“Since he has left office, Engineer Gboye Adegbenro has not relented in making impact in the lives of the underprivileged, particularly, widows, youths students.
“As you celebrate your 55th birthday today, we are saying happy birthday and many happy returns. Congratulations.”
