The Palace of the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese has paid glowing tribute to the late monarch, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Raphael Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede (Ise Oluwa II), as the community marked his posthumous birthday on Tuesday, October 22, 2025.
Oba Oluyede, who ascended the throne as the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese and passed on December 29, 2023, was remembered as a man of peace, wisdom, and unwavering faith — a ruler whose reign brought unity, progress, and development to the town.
In an official statement signed by HRM Princess Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, the Regent of Ayede Ogbese, the palace described the late monarch as “a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and extraordinary king whose reign and character continue to light our path.”
“Nearly two years after his transition, Kabiyesi’s voice, laughter, and counsel remain alive in our hearts,” the statement read. “His Majesty led with calm strength, fairness, and uncommon wisdom. Under his reign, Ayede Ogbese experienced unprecedented peace and unity — values that continue to define our people.”
Beyond the throne, the late monarch was celebrated as a brilliant attorney, faithful pastor, visionary entrepreneur, and trailblazer who embodied integrity and excellence.
Colleagues admired his sharp intellect and passion for justice, while members of his church family remembered his humility and steadfast faith.
Oba Oluyede was also cherished as a devoted family man, sharing 42 years of marriage with HRM Princess Olufunmilayo Ajibola-Oluyede, and blessed with two children — Prince Adetunmbi Ajibola-Oluyede and Princess (Dr.) Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell — and three beloved grandchildren, Eden Olufunmilayo, Abigail IyanuOluwa, and Immanuel Oluwademiladeola.
“As we celebrate him on this special day,” the Regent stated, “we choose gratitude over grief — thanking God for a life that touched countless souls and for a legacy that continues to inspire generations.”
Princess Oluyede-Campbell concluded with heartfelt prayers:
“May Kabiyesi’s gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace, in the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, till we meet again. May his memory remain a guiding light to the people of Ayede Ogbese, Ondo State, Nigeria, and beyond.”
