…..As Group appoints Adegoroye as Ondo DG, Aiyedatiwa as Grand Patron.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa today declared that members of the Tinubu Support Group in the state as heavyweights, movers and shakers of the politics of Ondo State upon whose shoulders he has stood and remain standing in the governance of the State.
Speaking at his formal investiture as the Grand Patron of the group in Ondo State, Aiyedatiwa said “with the caliber of people in the group, the job of promoting the achievements of the Tinubu government and campaigning for his reelection when campaign eventually takes off, has become easier.”
He then made his commitment to the goal of the TSG, which is the continuity of the President Tinubu government.
The Director General of the TSG Ondo State Chapter, Prince Ademola Adegoroye in his opening remarks asked all residents and groups in Ondo State to work together to support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu having benefitted in an unprecedented manner from the projects of the Tinubu-led government in just two years in the saddle.
Ademola Adegoroye, the Director General of the Tinubu Support Group, Ondo State Chapter, stated this while welcoming National Officers and delegates from accross the State to the official inauguration of the support group in Ondo State and the decoration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as Grand Patron in Akure on Friday.
Adegoroye who was at a time the Federal Minister of State for Transportation said the event is to “domesticate a national effort that led to the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president of the republic over two years ago.”
According to Adegoroye, the TSG “movement is taking off to work assudiously towards positively profiling the President, our party the APC and our achievements at all levels and to testify that our president is eminemtly qualified to be reelected massively for a deserved second term.”
He added that the group in Ondo State has “received and worked under the leadership and support of the governor of our dear State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, in the events preceding the presentation of the TSG to the people of Ondo State as a platform to promote the unity, cohesion and lofty ideas of our party and our government under the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The DG who reminded guests of some of the projects of the Tinubu administration in Ondo State which includes “Construction of Akure – Ado Road, the Ore – Akure road, Lagos – Calabar super highway, over 70km in Ondo Coastal Area, Ilesha – Benin Road through Owo and Ose LGAs, Ekiti – Akoko Road, FUTA Teaching Hospital and College of Aviation” among others.
Appreciating the support of the Governor to the group since the plan to inaugurate was muted, Adegoroye said the unpredented projects of the President in Ondo State when considered alongside the numerous initiatives of my governor, your governor and our governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, are sufficient achievements to campaign on when campaign officially starts.
“It is in view of the Governor Aiyedatiwa’s love, leadership and support that the group has decided to officially invest our Governor as the Grand Patron today.”
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the TSG in Nigeria, Dr Umar Tanko Yankassai, said “If Asiwaju supported Buhari in 2017 and repeated the same feat with success in 2023, it has become a moral imperative for all of us northerners to repeat the same courtesy and work towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“If you hear of a few voices of dissent claiming to be opposed to President Tinubu, you will notice that they are likely people who have been fingered in corruption, fraud and untoward crimes or who have not found accomodation in government structures. I urge you to attempt to win them over or leave them alone if they refuse to yield. They represent an infinitesimal fraction of the electorate.”
The TSG, in his words, “is a national Support Group which has served and will continues to serve as an umbrella body of all Support Group focussed on supporting the Tinubu administration and working tirelessly towards re-electing him.
“We therefore expect that all other support groups should work together with the TSG to promote the Tinubu presidency and work for the re-election of the APC of government of President Tinubu.”
