To Promote the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and Strengthen the Grassroots Base for future elections in Ondo State, the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO) has launched free medical for Elders in the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State.
Convener of PBAT Mandate Elders Forum, Hon. Ademola Ijabiyi announced this during the monthly meeting of the group held at the residence of the forum’s Leader, Pa Erastus Akeju in Akure.
Ijabiyi told the meeting well-attended by APC PBAT Elders that over 5,00 of them will benefit from the free medical outreach tagged “BTO Medicare Support For Elders (BTO-MSE)” under the Forum.
The Convener also disclosed that BTO had also assured that children and grandchildren of the elders would be given employment opportunities at the federal level.
“In recognition of the invaluable contributions of our elderly members to the growth, stability, and success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, this Forum seeks to establish the BTO Medicare Support Programme.
“Our elders remain the moral backbone and historical custodians of our great party their health and well-being are a moral and strategic priority. In the spirit of renewed hope and inclusiveness championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this initiative aims to provide quality healthcare services, preventive medical checks, and subsidized treatments for elderly members of the Forum across Ondo State.

“The program will also serve as a unifying welfare project that strengthens the Arc grassroots support while aligning with the vision of Hon. Dr. Bunmi Tunji- Ojo (TO) to consolidate goodwill and structure of the APC for our success of at the 2027 presidential elections.
“The initiative also aligns with the humanitarian values of BTO and reinforces his deep concern for the welfare of party elders as we mobilize for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and anticipate good governance in Ondo State beyond 2028.
“To ensure that the members of the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum have access to reliable, affordable, and continuous healthcare services.
“To promote preventive medicine through periodic health screenings and education. To relieve the financial burden of medical expenses on elderly party members.
“To express gratitude and solidarity to the elders who have devoted years of loyalty and service to the APC and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision.
“To reinforce the party’s reputation for compassion, unity, and community impact. Routine tests including blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol, eye and dental checks, prostate/breast screening, and general physical examinations.
“Primary and Follow-up Medical Care; Free consultations and treatment for age-related conditions such hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and heart-related ailments.
“Discounted Medications on essential drugs for registered members through a partner pharmacy or clinic. Emergency Medical Support Fund; Reserved funds for urgent cases requiring hospitalization or special medical attention.
“Quarterly Health Education and Enlightenment Sessions; Seminars focused on nutrition, exercise, disease prevention, and mental health.
“Priority will be given to elders with chronic illnesses and those with limited financial means,” Ijabiyi said.
In an interview, the Secretary of the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum and former Ondo State PDP Chairman, Hon Ebenezer Alabi, described the BTO gesture as unprecedented and commendable, adding that members of the forum would work for the reelection of President Tinubu.
Another major Highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of 18 local government chapters of the Elders Forum.
