…..Caution Speaker not to mislead the public

RE: “THE TWELVE LAWMAKERS ARE AFTER HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR LUCKY ORIMISAN AIYEDATIWA, NOT THE SPEAKER” — ANOTHER DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO MISLEAD THE PUBLIC
The attention of the Progressive-minded lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly has been drawn to a misleading, false, and politically mischievous statement credited to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, alleging that twelve lawmakers are plotting against His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. This baseless claim is not only deceptive but also a deliberate attempt to weaponize falsehood in order to divert public attention from the Speaker’s longstanding record of financial misconduct and legislative manipulation.
Speaking on behalf of the concerned lawmakers, Hon. Barr. Temitope Komolafe, Member representing Ifedore State Constituency, firmly refuted the Speaker’s narrative, describing it as “a capital lie wrapped in mischief and borne out of desperation.” He stated categorically that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has committed no impeachable offence, adding that no responsible lawmaker would contemplate such an action against a Governor whose leadership has brought dignity, stability, and renewed progress to Ondo State.
Hon. Barr. Temitope Komolafe noted that since Governor Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration, Ondo State has enjoyed one of the most transparent, people-oriented, and development-driven administrations in recent history. He described the Governor’s emergence as “one of the greatest blessings bestowed upon Ondo State in this democratic era.”
He further emphasized that the lawmakers’ concerns are directed not at the Governor, but at Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, whose leadership of the Assembly has been defined by self-interest, recklessness, and a gross lack of accountability. The Member representing Ifedore State Constituency described the Speaker as “a callous politician devoid of conscience and the fear of God.”

According to Hon. Barr. Temitope Komolafe, the Speaker must address the following pressing issues:
Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji’s loyalty lies solely in his stomach. He has no loyalty to the Governor and even less to the people of Ondo State.
The Speaker must publicly present a full account of the operational costs of the Ondo State House of Assembly, which he has failed to openly and transparently administer.
Rt. Hon. Oladiji misled over 3 million citizens of Ondo State by orchestrating false allegations of financial misappropriation against Governor Aiyedatiwa and leading a failed impeachment attempt that almost plunged the state into chaos.
Hon. Komolafe further revealed that the Speaker attempted to compromise him with financial inducements, noting that he “wants no part of the Speaker’s bribe.” He has therefore issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Rt. Hon. Oladiji to publicly account for the refund of the alleged bribe transferred to his account.
Hon. Barr. Temitope Komolafe condemned the Speaker’s latest attempt to present himself as a loyalist of the Governor, describing it as “an insult to the intelligence of the good people of Ondo State.” He noted that the same Speaker who sought to set the state ablaze through an unjustified impeachment move now pretends to be the Governor’s greatest defender.
In his words:
“It is laughable and shameful that Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji now claims to be more loyal to the Governor than those of us who stood firmly for truth, justice, and stability. This is nothing but an attempt to act more Catholic than the Pope.”
The Progressive-minded lawmakers reaffirm their unwavering support for His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and condemn all attempts by the Speaker to create unnecessary tension within the state. They urge the public to disregard the Speaker’s claims, which are nothing more than desperate theatrics aimed at distracting the people from the financial atrocities lingering in the House of Assembly under his watch.
The lawmakers remain committed to defending democracy, ensuring transparency, and protecting the interests of the good people of Ondo State.
