There was a palpable tension in Owo following an explosion near a commercial bank.
The Police however douse the tension by launching investigation.

POLICE INVESTIGATE PUBLIC DISTURBANCE IN OWO, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
The Ondo State Police Command wishes to inform the public that following reports of a loud explosion near Polaris Bank, Owo, operatives of the Command promptly commenced an investigation into the matter.
Preliminary findings indicate that the disturbance was caused by a banger purchased from a nearby supermarket. One Ayoola Daniel Ojumu (M) of Owo has been arrested in connection with the incident and has confessed to his role. His accomplice, who reportedly set off the banger, remains at large, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
The Command appreciate the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbettokun, PhD, NPM, for his continued leadership and commitment to maintaining law and order nationwide. Members of the public in Ondo State, particularly parents and guardians, are advised to prevail over their wards before, during, and after the festive period. The Police Command will take decisive action against any attempts to disrupt peace and public safety.
The suspect in custody will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation. The Command urges residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies to enhance community safety.
