DEPARTMENTAL SELECTION BOARD (DSB) COMMENCES AT ZONE 17 AKURE
The Nigeria Police Force Zone 17 Akure under the leadership of the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Ajani Musibau Omolabi psc+, spsp commences the Departmental Selection Board (DSB) exercise, today the 1/12/2025 in compliance with the directive of Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
The exercise, which marks a significant milestone in the career progression of eligible officers, is designed to assess and promote deserving Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The DSB represents a critical component of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to merit-based advancement and professional development within the ranks. All eligible Inspectors within Zone 17 who meet the requisite criteria for promotion to ASP are expected to participate in this selection process.
The board evaluate candidates based on established Police Service Commission guidelines and the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, including professional competence, leadership qualities, disciplinary records, years of service, and demonstrated commitment to modern policing standards.
This exercise underscores the Force’s dedication to ensuring that only qualified and capable officers advance to supervisory positions, in line with IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s reforms aimed at strengthening the Nigeria Police Force through strategic human capital development.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17 Akure, has directed all relevant units to provide necessary support to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the DSB proceedings. The exercise is expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe as outlined by the Police Service Commission.
Officers participating in the DSB have been advised to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism expected of the Nigeria Police Force.
