ONDO POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER
The Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to combating violent crime with the arrest of two suspects in connection with an attempted murder case in Akure.
The arrest followed a distress report received from one Fasuru (female) of the Oke-Ijebu area of Akure. Acting promptly on the report, operatives of the Ijapo Divisional Police Headquarters swiftly mobilized to the scene, where they found two men violently assaulting the victim.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, identified as Sodiq (male) and Emmanuel (male), assaulted the victim until she became unconscious. The operatives immediately rescued the victim and rushed her to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The suspects were arrested and taken into custody for questioning, while the case has been transferred to the Command Monitoring Unit for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police has advised residents of Ondo State against violent crimes, warning that such actions often result in grave consequences. He reassured the public that the Ondo State Police Command remains readily available to respond to all complaints and is fully committed to ensuring justice in all cases.
The Command also appreciates the strategic leadership and continuous support of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, whose reforms and technological initiatives continue to enhance policing efficiency and effectiveness across Ondo State.
In conclusion, CP Adebowale Lawal urged the good people of Ondo State to remain law-abiding and to continue cooperating with the Police by providing timely and credible information that will aid crime prevention and the protection of lives and property throughout the state.
