Protest: Ondo Govt returns normalcy to College of HealthTech, calms Students

RE: MASSIVE PROTEST ROCKS ONDO STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY, AKURE

Following the protest held by the Students of the Ondo State College of Health Tech, Akure this morning protesting for basic amenities within the campus.

The Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Ministry of Health, Dr. Adeniran Ikuomola, visited the institution this morning to Wade into the situation for calm.


Dr. Banji Ajaka met with the School Management and the Students Union of the College to make peace and settle rancour between them.

The Commissioner’s visit to the school this morning was to restore peace and calmness. Dr. Banji Ajaka was also in the school to make an onsight assessment of students complaints.

In his words, the Hon. Commissioner Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka assures the Students of Mr. Governor’s commitment of a sound health sector in Ondo State. Students welfare and conducive learning environment will always be prioritized.

He also made the Student to understand that protest cannot resolve any issue amicably but round table discussion through dialogue will do and his door is always open 24hrs daily for open discussions.


Dr. Banji Ajaka who promised the Students that all their requests will be looked into and be met, addressed the Students to exercise patience.

Security Operatives were also seen on ground to foster peace and calmness within the institution. As at now activities have gone back to normalcy within the School.
