1st Anniversary in office: Ajobiewe hails Aiyedatiwa’s Leadership milestones, Progress in Ondo State

One Year After: Aiyedatiwa’s Leadership Delivers Tangible Progress Across Ondo

….Ajobiewe Highlights Milestones in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s First Year in Office.

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. David Ajobiewe, has described the first year of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as “a season of steady leadership and measurable progress across every senatorial district of the state.”

Speaking during an interview session with his media team, Hon. Ajobiewe said the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa has proven that purposeful governance delivers visible results within a short time.

“Our Governor’s achievements are evident and visible in every part of Ondo State,” Ajobiewe remarked.

Roads and Infrastructure Across Three Senatorial Districts.

According to Hon. Ajobiewe, the administration has completed 47 roads across the three senatorial districts — stretching from Akure to Okitipupa, and from Ore to Owo. He noted that communities once constrained by poor road networks now enjoy smoother transportation, boosting commerce and daily life.

“These roads are not just asphalt projects; they are economic pathways,” he said. Businesses are moving freely. Traders spend less time and money on transportation. Rural communities are now better connected.

Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Reduction

Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Ajobiewe emphasized that the Governor’s approach to fiscal discipline has yielded positive outcomes. Ondo State’s domestic debt has been significantly reduced within the year, creating financial breathing space for developmental projects.

“Prudent management of state resources has allowed government to channel funds into priority sectors such as education, agriculture, and healthcare,” he explained.

Education: Investing in the Future

Highlighting achievements in education, Ajobiewe revealed that the administration recruited over 2,100 teachers to strengthen learning in public schools. In addition, government paid WAEC and NABTEB fees for thousands of students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic progress.

“Education is not negotiable. The Governor understands that the future of Ondo lies in investing in our children,” he said.

Health Sector Revitalization

The Special Assistant further noted that several primary health centres were renovated across the state, improving access to quality healthcare services at the grassroots level.

“Our rural communities can now access better medical care without traveling long distances. That is real governance,” he added.

Agriculture and Food Security Initiative

On food security, Hon. Ajobiewe disclosed that the administration launched a ₦7.5 billion food security programme, opening up 26,000 hectares of farmland for cultivation.

“This initiative is empowering farmers, creating jobs, and strengthening food production across the state,” he explained.

One Year, Visible Impact

Summing up the administration’s first-year performance, Ajobiewe described it as a period marked by steady leadership and tangible impact.

“These are not just statistics. They are real changes people can feel in their businesses, in their schools, and in their homes. One year. Steady leadership. Visible impact. That is the Aiyedatiwa story so far.”

As Ondo State moves into the next phase of development under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, Hon. Ajobiewe expressed confidence that the administration will continue to prioritize people-focused policies and sustainable growth.
