Police Invitation: Petition against Ifedore LG Chairman frivolous

The Vice Chairman of Ifedore local government in Ondo State, Hon Oluwasogo Ajikiola, has been fingered of allegedly writing frivolous petition against the embattled Chairman of the local government, Engr Alex Oladimeji, which led to his purported invitation by the Anti-Graft Special Fraud Unit, Alagbon, Lagos.

A source close to the Chairman said he had honoured the invitation and he was not detained contrary to an online report that he was being held by the police.

The online media had reported that Oladimeji was alleged to have converted about N850,000 monthly salary of ad-hoc staffers to his personal use.

However, the source alleged that “the desperation of the Vice chairman of Ifedore Local government Mr Sogo Ajikiola to edge his boss out of the system is getting out of hand.

“The invitation of the chairman is as a result of petition written by the Vice chairman to the FCID Alagbon, where the Vice chairman alleged that the chairman misappropriated funds.

“It was gathered that the Civil servants were also invited to testify against the Chairman and the vice chairman entice them with huge amount of money which they rejected and vow to say the truth at the FCID.

“On three occasions the Vice Chairman had allegedly tried impeachment of the Chairman but he always failed, we got it from good source that the Vice chairman is backed by the APC  State chairman and the reason for his audacity to want to edge his boss out by force, using all sort of approach from forging the signatures of some councillors to wrote petition to telling lies against the chairman on social media,” the Source said.

When contacted the chairman, Engr Oladimeji said he didn’t misappropriated any funds and with time he will be vindicated.
