Children, Family members, community leaders and church faithful filed out on thursday to honour Late Chief Barrister Augustus Epebinu Akenroye during Christian wake for him.
The Christian Wake Service was held at C&S Primary School Play Ground, Ilutitun Osoro in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State and coordinated by Ebenezer Anglican Communion Cathedral, Diocese on the Coast, Ilutitun.
Late Barrister Augustus Epebinu Akenroye died on 20th December, 2021 at the age of 85.
Ministering at the programme, an Anglican Priest, Bishop Adekunle Adebayo, charged christians to pursue holiness at all times as only those who had been purified would be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God.
Bishop Adebayo while delving on the implications of ungodly behaviours, said those who are yet to receive Christ would be locked out and barred from entering the Paradise where there is eternal joy.
The clergyman described late Barrister Epebinu Akenroye as famous community leader, Caring father, dedicated Christian as well as highly sound and competent legal icon, who would be missed greatly by all.
While citing tributes of Late Barrister Augustus Epebinu Akenroye, across sessions of family and Church members said the deceased had left good Legacies that can never be forgotten just as he was dedicated to church service and cared for people irrespective of their religious and ethnic backgrounds.
Bishop Adebayo also used the event to warn those youths who had been involving in money ritual and internet fraudster popularly called “Yahoo Boys” to shun the act as nemesis will soon catch on evil-doers.
Some of the deceased’s children who spoke, described their late father as irreplaceable and unique head of Akenroye dynasty.
The burial programmes which started on wednesday this week with a Special Court Sitting at the State High Court, continues today with church burial service at Ebenezer Anglican Communion Cathedral, Diocese on the Coast, Ilutitun Osoro while interment follows immediately at the church cemetery and Entertainment of guests will take place at C&S Primary School Play Ground, Ilutitun.
