It has always been a thing of joy to have teachers who are dedicated to their work. Though, such teachers are normally unrewarded or even motivated by their employers, usually government. However, students will, of course, notice this zeal in their teachers and are always tempted to say thank you, even in a little way.
In reflection of this assertion, the 1973/74 old students of defunct St. Francis Secondary Modern School, Akure, on Saturday, 2nd April, 2022, celebrated their former Headmaster, Pa M. A. Ade Ojo, who clocked 95 years of age.
The event which took place in Aramoko Ekiti, Ekiti State, the hometown of Pa Adeojo, also nosedived into a reunion party among classmates and friends who separated about 49 years ago.
The old students who presented Birthday portrait and various gifts to the celebrant described him as a God-fearing, dedicated, loyal, resourceful, reserved and hardworking man.
According to one of them, Prof Segun Olowolaju, an Associate Professor of Accounting, Federal University of Technology, Akure, maintained that his former teacher is a wonderful mentor and the students will forever be grateful to him, as he has contributed meaningfully to the molding of their lives. He said every student who passed through the celebrant can attest to his acute mental discernment and sound judgement.
“Pa Ade Ojo is an amazing personality, who encouraged and supported us to be focused in order to be successful in our future endeavors. We will always hold on to the profound life lessons he taught us. May he find peace in life. Happy Birthday Sir”.
Responding, the Celebrant, Pa M.A. Ade Ojo, appreciated God for his mercy and grace upon his life, to have been favoured to reach age of 95 years. He expressed glowing gratitude on the 1973/74 set of the school who came from all walks of life to bestow honour on him at his Aramoko Ekiti country home.
He, therefore, urged them to remain steadfast in their chosen endeavours, whilst seeking the face of God in all aspects of life.
Dignitaries among the old students include: Messrs Folorunso Ojo, Idowu Otetubi FCA, Prof Segun Olowolaju, Tayo Egunjobi, Niyi Aduewa, Tope Kolawole, Chief Dele Akinlolu, Banji Fagbote, Mrs Ireti Ketiku, Mrs Yinka Olutade, Mrs Mabel Falayi. Mrs Ebun Adedipe. Others were, Mr Olarewaju Olasusi, Mr Ayo Olusegun, Mr Biodun Adebo, Mrs Catherine Olowokere and Mr Francis Oladapo, among others.
