The lawmaker representing Ilaje/Ese odo Federal Constituency in Ondo State, Honorable Kolade Akinjo has expressed total displeasure over recent attacks on innocent Nigerians, of Ilaje extract who are resident in Ibeno Local government area of Akwa Ibom State
In a statement signed by him on Wednesday, HON Kolade Akinjo called for an end to the attacks and wanton destruction of valuable property of the people.
He also demanded urgent intervention of relevant stakeholders to forestall a reoccurrence of such inimical act in the interest of peace.
‘We condemn in the strongest possible terms the destruction of hard-earned properties, wounding and killing of our innocent Ilaje fishermen plying their trade in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom in the ongoing cult clashes in that region.
“As the primary purpose of government is to ensure security of lives and property and as well improve the welfare of the people, therefore, government should not allow insecurity in any form to rear its ugly head.
“Let the Akwa-Ibom and Ondo State Governments jointly understand this sacred truism as there’s no justification to this dastardly act.
“Whilst we must all stand together to condemn the attacks and take steps to check these abhorrent behaviours, we demand from the government of Akwa Ibom State an immediate investigation and appropriate punishment those responsible.
“Our hearts are with our people in that region’. Violence in any form is unacceptable.
