The Ondo State Government has acknowledged important roles of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in the Land Administration and Management in the Housing subsector in Nigeria as they are strategic in the development of the Nation.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) made this known at the investiture ceremony of the 15th Chairman of the State chapter of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers held in Akure, the state capital.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Infrastructure Lands and Housing, Engr. Raimi Aminu, (FNSE), stated that his administration had provided an enabling environment for Estate Valuers in the state, and as part of capacity building in the Ministry, recruited fifteen (15) graduates of Estate Management to beef up the manpower need of Lands Services Department.
Akeredolu congratulated the new Chairman and his executive members and called for mutual understanding in working with the various developmental policies of government while assuring them of more government’s patronage.
The State Governor appreciated the Institution for the honour done him as one of the awardees, said the award would not only propel but also encourage him to do more in provision of dividends of good governance to the people of the state.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Bibilari Idris, who is the 15th Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Estate Valuers , Ondo state branch, appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for his efforts in the state especially on security matters.
The Chairman who identified with the success recorded by the Southwest Security Network, codenamed ‘Amotekun corps’ the brainchild of Governor Akeredolu led Southwest Governors’ forum within a short period of time, stated that the the concept is a game changer in fighting crimes and criminality.
He therefore called for support and cooperation of all members of the Institution for successive tenure while promising to leave the branch better than he met it.
