The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, on Tuesday hosted a dinner in honour of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON and five other eminent personalities from Ondo State conferred with national honours by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Other national award recipients hosted alongside the governor at the dinner were the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, CFR, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, the Special Adviser on Health to the Governor, Prof. Adedayo Faduyile, OON, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo, OON and Chief Akin Aruwajoye, OON.
The reception, which was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre in Abuja, was attended by many dignitaries, including the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice and Senator Lekan Mustapha of Ogun State.
Others in attendance included former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Chief Akin Olujimi, Hon. Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court, Chairman, Board of National Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Mr. Njeze Eric Ejike, the Director General of NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, former Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, Dr. Felix Ale, and APC Senatorial Candidates, Mr. Niyi Adegbonmire, SAN (Ondo Central) and Pastor Jide Ipinshgba (Ondo North).
There were also the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; members of the State Executive Council led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; members of the State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun; Local Government Chairmen led by the ALGON chairman, Augustine Oloruntogbe and members of the House of Representatives: Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, Hon. Abiola Makinde and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, among several other personalities.
Speaking at the event, Governor Akeredolu, who said the national award reinforced his conviction that the country would continue to get better, thanked the Minister for the colourful reception and commended him for his efforts so far as a member of the Buhari administration.
Responding on behalf of the national award recipients being hosted by the Minister, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo, who said he was impressed by efforts put into the dinner event, added that all the honourees appreciated the Minister and his team for the wonderful reception.
Oba Aladetoyinbo said the people of Akure and indeed of Ondo State are proud of the Minister for all he has been doing since he was appointed into the cabinet of the President.
Speaking earlier, the host, Prince Adegoroye, said he took the decision to honour the award recipients because they are distinguished indigenes of Ondo State who merited the recognition given to them by the federal government.
Adegoroye thanked Governor Akeredolu for his support for him since he became Minister, promising that he will continue to protect the common interest of the people of Ondo State in the federal cabinet.

Ondo State Governor,Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will surmount it challenges and continue to get better.
Governor Akeredolu assured of his determination to continue to prosecute his conviction with courage and seek the greater good of the nation.
The Governor spoke on Tuesday in Abuja at a reception organised for him and other National Honours Award recipients from Ondo State by the Minister of State for Transport, Prince Ademola Adegoroye
According to him, the National Honours has reinforced his conviction that the country would continue to get better.
While commending the Minister for his efforts in achieving a better Nigeria, Governor Akeredolu, CON, expressed appreciation to God for making the day a reality and also thanked the Minister for the honor done him and other awards recipients.
“For all of us, it is only God who made it possible. It is a thing of joy and worth celebrating.
“Prince Adegoroye has done so well. He has done us proud. He has done our dear state proud and we all appreciate him. It is a good reception.
“I want to thank all EXCO members who are here in their large numbers. This is One Administration. You have come to show that we run One Administration and I thank you all.” The Governor said.
In his remarked, Prince Adegoroye said Governor Akeredolu has done the state proud.
He congratulated all the National Award recipients from the sunshine state, while urging them to keep the flag flying.
