ONDO: Fake Female Police officer lands in trouble over N3.5m

A 30-year-old self acclaimed police officer, Hannah Isaiah,  has been arraigned  before an Ore Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud of N3.5million.

The fake police woman was brought to the court on 76 counts, ranging from conspiracy to  fraud.

According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence between August 30, 2022, and September 8, 2022, at Ore township in Ore, Ondo State.

The prosecutor, Inspector Jimoh Amuda told the court that the defendant and one other at large defrauded one Bashiru Rasheed of the sum of N2,922,500.

He also alleged that the defendant and his accomplice at large also fraudulently obtained the sum of N559, 000 from the victim’s bank account.

Amuda said transactions with different amounts of money at different time was done with two accounts, U.B.A Account 2136631714, with the account name , Isaiah Bose Hannah and Access account 1531848314 with the account name, Isaiah Robert Segun.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the count when the charge was read to her.

Amuda, therefore, prayed for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.

The defence counsel, Mr Uche Abangwu did not oppose the prosecutor’s application. But he  prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms.

Chief Magistrate B. A. Ikusika, in her ruling, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of 500, 000 naira with two sureties in like sum.

He ordered the remand of the defendant  at the Okitipupa Correctional Centre pending the perfection of his bail and  adjourned the case till November 11 , 2022 for trial. THE HOPE
