Tributes pour in for late VC of Achievers University, Owo, Prof Samuel Aje

Tributes coupled with good commendations trailed the demise of the late Vice Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Prof. Samuel Aje, who died on 29th December, 2022.

At the commendation service held in honour of the late Don on Thursday, at the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium, the University’s Senate representative, Prof. Joseph Fayeye and other top notch individuals commended Prof Aje for his good works while he was the Vice-Chancellor.

The Acting VC of the University, Prof. Omolola Irinoye delivered the bible reading from 1st Corinthians 15 vs 50 – 58.

The homily was delivered by the Registrar of the Institution, Revd Canon Bayo Oladimeji, who admonished the congregation to see life as a temporary one.

Oladimeji added that as humans, there’s the need to distance oneself from the distractions of the world.

Going down the memory lane, the Pro-Chancellor, Dr Bode Ayorinde in his remarks, said the late VC gave his huge support to the University since its establishment.

According to him, Prof. Aje was instrumental to the start of the University at the onset.

Dr Ayorinde therefore promised to name the next hall of residence to be built by the University after the late Prof. Samuel Aje.

Dr Ayorinde urged the University to also treat him with the love they gave to the late VC when he departs, adding the everyone will witness death.

However, the remains of the VC will on Friday, January 27, 2023, be committed to mother earth after a church service at Anglican Church, Imola-Owo, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
