Ose Communities’ Attacks: How Amotekun, Army, other security agencies restored normalcy —Ondo govt

Aftermath of bloody attacks that occurred at Arimogija and Molege axis of Ose Local Government Area of Ondo state, the State government has commended timely action of security operatives in restoring normalcy and peace in the areas, even as it explained what led to the latest destruction of lives and property last week in the communities.

Speaking on the incident that occurred on February 2, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters and Commander of the Ondo state Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye assured that normalcy had returned to the communities and commercial activities had started going on unhindered.

It was gathered that the villagers who were shocked by the attack labelled the suspected armed herdsmen as terrorists.

While affirming that suspected herders invaded Arinmogija and its environs, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, said Amotekun Corps alongside other security agencies such as the Nigerian Army, the Police and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps responded swiftly and ensured that normalcy has returned to the community.

“As at this morning that I left the community (Arinmogija), the situation is normal.

“I learnt it started with a young man that went to buy petrol from Ute at Arimogija.  We were informed that he had petrol in his car and he ran into  the cows that were used as a bait and in the process, injured some of the the cows.

“In the process of finding out what happened, the owners of the cows  opened fire on the car conveying petrol inside of it and the vehicle went into flames burnt together with the man inside the car and he died.

“Also, while that was going on, a motorcyclist who was coming from behind was equally affected apart from the fact, that there were other situations which security agencies may not want to disclose.

“I want to  specially thank the Army and the Police  for joining hands together with the Amotekun Corps which helped towards exiting the herdsmen from the area, he said.”

According to the Amotekun boss, “We have enough men on ground in Ijagba and Arimogija to guarantee the safety of the people in the community and its environs.

“This is because we went right into the forest and we where able to chase them far away from the state”, he stated.
