MHA polls: Ondo Lawmaker Tomide’s reelection bid suffers rejection after PDP defeat —OMO Team reveals

February 25 Defeat: Hon. Tomide Resorts to Begging After Wide Rejection, As Defection Hits PDP

The February 25 Presidential and NASS elections have come and gone, but the PDP is yet to recover from the colossal defeat recorded after the elections.

Before the elections, some notable PDP in Ondo kingdom; H.E Dr Mimiko, Hon. Akinlaja, Hon. Tomide, Dr Kehinde Felix and a host of others have sauntered that PDP will defeat the APC in the February 25 and March 11 (now 18) elections, to show that electorates have rejected the party in Ondo.

Surprisingly, after the February 25 election, PDP was embarrassingly rejected through the ballots, as PDP stalwarts were unable to win their polling units as strutted, and this further increased their humiliation.

APC’s OMO in the middle with other leaders

After the shameful outing for the party, PDP, the house of representatives candidate has disgracefully sent packing to his base, and the party has abandoned their HoA candidate and the outgoing MHA, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, as they have seen that Hon. Tomide’s defeat to the APC candidate, OMO in the March 18 election will be worst than how their presidential, reps. and senatorial candidates were mercilessly crushed at the polls by the APC candidates on February 25.

As the tsunami of defection hit the PDP in Ondo West and East to the APC, Hon. Tomide Akinribido is now a political orphan as he has been forsaken by his party’s chieftains and the constituents of Ondo West constituency 1, and he has resorted to going around the town, begging constituents he has neglected since 2019 to vote for him, to save himself from political humiliation on March 18.

It is now egregious that Hon. Tomide is jittering and gasping for survival gas, as he is on the verge of losing his seat to OMO, which will be affirmed on March 18. To make Hon. Tomide’s last-minute begging horrible for him, people have been turning down his plea as they vowed to replace him in the 10th ODHA with Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO), who is the candidate of the APC.

In recent weeks, OMO has been endorsed by numerous notable organisations and associations in Ondo West, and at the state level as their preferred choice, to represent them in the 10th ODHA.
