March 18 Polls: Political Collabo For Hon. Tomide By PDP Will End In Waterloo – SGSG
*** Gov. Akeredolu will reciprocate February 25 landslide victories for the 26 APC house of assemble candidates on March 18 as vowed – Ogunlade
As the March 18 Ondo state house of assembly draws closer, the attention of Socio-Political Group for Sustainable Governance (SGSG) in Ondo West has been drawn to a sinister move by the chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo West to form an unholy alliance (collabo), to ensure that their outgoing MHA candidate for Ondo west constituency 1, Hon. Tomide Akinribodo return to Akure through a political backdoor.
Recalled that in 2019 Ondo state house of assembly, ZLP presented Hon. Tomide to the good people of Ondo west constituency 1, through an alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, to make the ZLP candidate emerge winner of the election having realised that the candidate does not have any political value to win the election, and after a serious plea by the Former Governor of Ondo state, H.E Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Gov. Akeredolu yielded and allowed ZLP to produce Hon. Tomide, and appealed to the constituents of Ondo West 1 to vote for the ZLP candidate.
After winning his election to the house as the lonely lawmaker under the defunct ZLP, Hon. Tomide Akinribido abandoned his legislative statutory duties and started going against the government, collaborating with the opposition party in the house fight against the Executive and Legislative Arms of government, which eventually led to his suspension that brought shame to Ondo West constituency 1.
Hon. Tomide’s rebellious behaviour in the house aggravated to a point that he publicly insulted the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Bamedele Oleyelogun, by calling him nasty names that were highly preposterous, including some lawmakers and Hon. Tomide in the peccant act, took to social media to denigrate the laudable achievements of Mr Governor and 9th Assembly.
The same Hon. Tomide Akinribido went out to openly blackmailed Mr Governor, that he was trying to bribe the house with humongous money to remove the former Deputy Governor, Chief Agboola Ajayi from office, which later came out to be erroneous, and an intentional act by him to bring down the government of Gov. Akeredolu as an anti-government to the good people of the State.
There is an ongoing move by H.E Dr Olusegun Mimiko and some party bigwigs in the PDP to visit Gov. Akeredolu and solicit to form an unholy alliance to work for the emergence of their rejected candidate, Tomide on March 18 to save the party from immense defeat awaits the party this weekend at the polls.
We know that Mr Governor will never allow himself to be backstabbed again by Hon. Tomide and party cohorts, and we believe that Gov. Akeredolu who has vowed to deliver the election for his party candidates will not for any reason back down, and he will reciprocate the February 25 resounding victories for the house of assembly 26 candidates come March 18.
Since June 2019, Hon. Tomide has been an antagonist to the legislative development of Ondo West constituency 1, by going around the constituency blackmailing Gov. Akeredolu, who adopted him and his defunct ZLP and secured his victory in the house.
After a wasted 4 years in the house, as a result of being an abettor of those who does not mean well for the development of Ondo west constituency 1 and the state at large, Hon. Tomide after buying his way through his party delegates was given the return ticket under PDP, and now looking for an awry way to get himself back to the house in 2023.
We hereby call on the good constituents of Ondo west 1, never to allow any form of political bait by the PDP in the unholy name of alliance (collabo) for the outgoing MHA to rob them of their golden opportunity to bring Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO) on board to represent them in the 10th state house of assembly in Akure.
The good people of Ondo west constituency 1 must in totality resist any move by the PDP to hoodwink them this time and hold their affirmation to the manifesto of OMO which has promised to restore to restore the loss of the constituency.
Ondo west constituency 1 people are resolute, and will vehemently reject bringing back Tomide and PDP this weekend, as this weekend’s election will finally consign to the grave the political activities of the PDP in Ondo kingdom.
