ONDO APC CHIEFTAIN, AJIPE BACKS GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU’S CALL FOR DEMOCRATIC ZONING OF NASS PRINCIPAL OFFICES
In response to the recent criticism of the zoning of the National Assembly principal offices by the National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, The Convener of IBI Giga Ambassadors and Chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, Chief Alex AJIPE has thrown his support behind the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s stance calling for a more democratic approach to be taken in electing the principal officers of the National Assembly.
AJIPE also urged all APC National Assembly members-elect from Ondo State to align themselves with the Governor’s view.
Condemning the zoning, which he described as skewed, Governor Akeredolu, in a press statement he personally signed on Wednesday, said the purported arrangement stands logic on its head as one geo-political zone, North-west, will be favoured with two presiding officers out of four while the North-central despite its loyalty to the party won’t have any
Chief Ajipe while backing the governor’s point of view believes that the democratic process should be upheld in the zoning of NASS principal offices.
He notes that the APC is a party that prides itself on its democratic ideals, and as such, it is important that the party adheres to these principles in all its activities.
According to him, the zoning of NASS principal offices should be done in a transparent and democratic manner, giving all members-elect the opportunity to express their preferences and have a say in the process.
Ajipe also emphasizes the importance of unity within the party, He urges all APC National Assembly members-elect from Ondo State to come together and consult with one another to ensure that they present a united front in the zoning of NASS principal offices.
He believes that by working together, the APC can achieve its objectives and create a better future for the people of Ondo State.
Chief Ajipe however, calls on all APC National Assembly members-elect from Ondo State to support Governor Akeredolu’s call for a democratic approach to the zoning of NASS principal offices. He believes that this will strengthen the party and ensure that its democratic ideals are upheld.
