AIYEDATIWA RE-ASSURES HEALTH WORKERS OF COMMITMENT TO GOOD HEALTH SERVICES
***NMA Appreciates Acting Governor For Holding Forth For Governor Akeredolu.
Ondo State Acting Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reassured the people of the State particularly members of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Ondo State chapter that, the State is determined to sustain and continually improved on efforts at delivering effective and qualitative health care services to the people and residents of the State.
The Acting Governor spoke while playing host to the leadership of NMA, Ondo State chapter and it’s affiliates led by their Chairman, Dr Omosehin Adeyemi Osowe who were in his office on courtesy visit on Tuesday.
While welcoming them, Aiyedatiwa highlighted the efforts made by Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON in the health care delivery like upgrading health facilities services for children below age five and pregnant women as well as boosting of healthcare facilities with modern equipments .
He also disclosed that the State established the Orange Health Insurance Scheme ( ORANGHIS ) for public servants in the State as well as political office holders .
The State equally established Ondo State Contributory Health Commission and Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme in response to the pressing global needs to attain Universal Health Coverage ( UHC ) in accordance with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
The State is also building the ongoing multi-million naira 500-Bed Teaching Hospital at UNIMED Ondo and Akure, he said.
The Acting Governor commended health workers in the State for their perseverance as he appealed to them that their welfare remains a top priority.
“We have taken note of the challenges you raised so that, we can see how to address them” .
“I assure you not to be discourage and thank you for your perseverance” .
“We will improve by the grace of God” , Aiyedatiwa assured.
Earlier, Ondo State NMA Chairman, Dr Omosehin Osowe appreciated the Acting Governor for holding forth for Mr Governor and for the commitment of the present administration in the health care delivery in the State.
He listed some of their challenges as he called for sustained improvement in the health sector of the State.
Joining the Acting Governor in receiving the NBA team was the Special Adviser to Governor on Health, Professor Dayo Faduyile.
OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND IN AGRICULTURE-BASED ENTERPRISES IN ONDO STATE, SAYS AIYEDATIWA
***As Nigeria Rubber Research Institute Plans Partnership with Ondo State Govt.
Ondo State Acting Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said, opportunities abound in Agriculture-based enterprises in the State, as the State Government remained committed to fostering sustainable agricultural development for food security as well as prosperity of the people.
Aiyedatiwa spoke while hosting the Management team of Nigeria’s foremost rubber research institute, The Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria (RRIN), Benin City, Edo State, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Akure, on Wednesday.
The RRIN management team led by the Executive Director/CEO, Dr. Lelia Ndogo were in the State to avail the State Government of the huge opportunities in rubber plantation/production.
The Acting Governor appreciated RRIN for chosen the State as the State is one of the leading rubber producing states in the country.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that the State Government stands committed towards unlocking the potentials of the rubber industry to the fullest so that rubber farmers can extract maximum benefits.
He said, enhancement of income of farmers and overall development in rural areas is the priority of the State Government.
“”There are so many opportunities in the State, people can come and invest particularly in Agriculture-based enterprises” , he said.
“Rubber production is lucrative business… Araromi Rubber Plantation in Araromi-Obu is contributing hugely to the revenue of the State” .
“So, if we have more of such plantations in the State, it will reduce unemployment and enhance our economy” .
“As a government, we welcome new concept on rubber plantation for maximum benefits and we are looking forward to have mutual relationship with the Institute” , declared Aiyedatiwa.
Earlier, Dr. Lelia Ndogo gave an overview of the 50-year old institute .
She briefed the Acting Governor on the need to partner with the Institute on benefits of special Rubber varieties and planting system which will provides substantial benefits to the state and Ondo farmers.
Dr. Ndogo said, the partnership is going to be a gateway to a wealth of insights and innovation in Rubber Plantations.
Joining the Acting Governor in receiving the Institute management team are, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, Hon Olayato Aribo, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Agric and Agribusiness, Pastor Akin Olotu, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor, Office of Acting Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Press Secretary to Governor, Office of Acting Governor, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga and others.
